Philip returned to freelancing in 2011 after four years as the Artistic Director of Salisbury Playhouse. Recent and forthcoming credits include THE NORMAN CONQUESTS (Liverpool Playhouse); THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST / TRAVESTIES (Birmingham Rep), SIXTY-SIX BOOKS (Bush Theatre), TWIST OF GOLD (Polka Theatre), DEALING WITH CLAIRE (RADA), DUOLOGUES (LAMDA).

His productions at Salisbury included THE CONSTANT WIFE, THE GAME OF LOVE AND CHANCE, THE PICTURE, DEATH AND THE MAIDEN (design only), TORO! TORO! (and design), PRIVATE LIVES, ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, BLACKBIRD (and design), FAITH HEALER (and design), THE WINSLOW BOY, PEOPLE AT SEA, WHAT THE BUTLER SAW, A MONTH IN THE COUNTRY, ALPHABETICAL ORDER and CORPSE!
